About RetireWise

Retirement planning should explain the number, not just display it.

The project started from a simple observation: expenses such as school fees and EMIs may not belong in a lifelong retirement budget.

Why RetireWise exists

Many retirement calculators begin with one number—today's total household spending—and simply inflate it to retirement. That is easy, but it can ignore a basic fact: household responsibilities change over a lifetime.

RetireWise was built around a different question: what might your life actually cost after retirement?

What we want the product to do

Make assumptions visible

Users should be able to see why a corpus changes rather than receive a mysterious final number.

Keep the first step simple

Quick Estimate should remain accessible even as Detailed Planner becomes more powerful.

Avoid false precision

A retirement plan is a scenario, not a promise. We prefer transparent funding percentages and cash flows over invented certainty.

Respect user data

The current version processes calculator inputs in the browser and requires no account.

What RetireWise is not

RetireWise is not a registered investment adviser, broker, insurer, bank, tax adviser or legal service. It does not recommend financial products or guarantee that any plan will succeed.

Try your numbers

Build a plan around your own assumptions.

Use Quick Estimate for speed or Detailed Planner to model expenses that end, rise or change after retirement.
