Choose what you are planning for, estimate what it may cost in the future, and see how your current savings plan compares.
Carrowmont separates inflation from investment growth so you can see which assumption is driving the result.

Illustrative observations from your current assumptions.
Same assumptions, different time horizon.
First, Carrowmont estimates what the goal may cost at the selected date. Then it projects existing savings, recurring contributions at the selected savings / contribution frequency and any future one-time investment using the investment-return assumption. The difference becomes the modelled funding gap.
For home purchase, the target is the selected down payment. For emergency savings, the target is based on essential monthly expenses and the number of months selected.
Future goal cost: Today’s goal cost × (1 + inflation assumption)years.
Existing savings: Projected at the entered annual investment return. Recurring contributions are modelled at the selected savings / contribution frequency using the equivalent periodic rate implied by the annual return.
Required contribution: The recurring contribution at the selected frequency that would model to the future target after allowing for existing savings and any eligible future one-time investment.
All assumptions are user-controlled and constant for modelling purposes. Actual inflation, investment returns, taxes and future prices may differ materially.

Compares today's amount with the nominal amount at the goal date
Today's money is the amount now; future money is the modelled nominal amount at the goal date.
| Goal timing | Goal cost (future money at that date) | Contribution required (from now, at selected frequency) | Projected funding (from current plan before any increase) |
|---|
Projected funding uses the existing savings, current recurring contribution and any entered future one-time investment. It does not assume the contribution required shown in the previous column.
These charts show how the goal cost may change and how the current savings plan compares with the goal path.
Today is a current amount; later points are nominal future-money amounts at those dates.
Projected funding is based on the current plan before any increase.
The model estimates the future goal cost from the amount entered today and the selected inflation or price-growth assumption. It then projects existing savings, recurring contributions at the selected savings / contribution frequency and any future one-time investment using the investment-return assumption. The difference at the selected date is the modelled funding gap.
This report is an educational planning illustration based entirely on the information and assumptions entered. It does not predict inflation, investment returns, taxes, fees or future prices. It is not individualized investment, financial, tax, legal, accounting or insurance advice. Actual outcomes can differ materially.
