Projected value vs money invested
See how investment growth may compound over time.
Estimate future value, include existing investments, model an annual step-up, work backwards from a goal, or estimate how long a target corpus may take.
SIP means Systematic Investment Plan. It is the common Indian term for investing a set amount at regular intervals. In other markets, the same idea is often called recurring or regular investing.
A SIP is a recurring investment method. This calculator models the arithmetic of regular contributions and assumed returns; it does not predict or guarantee investment performance.
See how recurring contributions, time and compounding work together before you test return, contribution and step-up assumptions.
Choose whether the goal is an amount in today's money or a future target amount you already know.
Enter the future corpus you want to reach. The calculator estimates how long the current SIP path may take.
Enter your current investment amount and the recurring monthly contribution you want to model.
Charts update automatically as you change the assumptions.

Same return and period; only the annual SIP increase changes.
Follow the monthly SIP, money invested and modelled portfolio value for every year of the plan.
| Year | Step-up SIP projected value | Fixed SIP projected value | Additional value from step-up |

Both paths use the same existing investment, assumed return and time period. Only the annual SIP increase changes.
These are arithmetic observations from the entered assumptions, not personalized investment advice.
Same SIP, return and step-up assumptions; only the time horizon changes.
A recurring SIP is added monthly while the invested balance compounds using the monthly rate implied by the annual return assumption. If a step-up is entered, the monthly contribution increases once each year.
In goal mode, Carrowmont can either grow an amount entered in today’s money using the inflation / price-growth assumption or use a future target amount directly, then solve for the starting monthly SIP required.
In Time to target mode, you enter the target corpus and your SIP assumptions; the calculator estimates the first modelled month in which the portfolio reaches that target.
Monthly return: The annual return assumption is converted to the equivalent monthly compound rate.
SIP projection: Existing investments grow monthly. Contributions are added at month-end and can increase once each year by the entered step-up rate.
Future goal amount: Either today’s goal amount × (1 + inflation / price growth)years, or a future target entered directly.
Monthly SIP required: The starting monthly contribution that would model to the selected future goal while applying the entered annual step-up. It is solved numerically.
Time to target: The first modelled month in which the projected portfolio equals or exceeds the target corpus, checked for up to 50 years.
